Knowledgeable & Experienced

We only recruit top quality, specialist classic car restoration companies to carry out our inspections. We have dozens, all across the UK, giving us a wealth of experience of a vast number of different marques. Our unique search facility gives you the ability to search by your car make and location, and to read their biographies. Because we use only historic vehicle specialists, they understand the unique character of classic cars, what could affect the value, and what is "normal": something a 'modern' mechanic may miss.

Detailed and Standardised

All of our inspections are based around our standard CSR^® 175-point report. This has been designed to take in the huge variety of historic, classic and vintage vehicles that are on the roads today and is extremely detailed. The report is standardised, so you always know what to expect, and easy to understand, even for someone with limited mechanical knowledge.

Excellent Value

We believe the standard CSR is excellent value for money, and could save you a great deal of money and heartache in the future. Our inspections often identify poor areas of bodywork hidden to the casual viewer, mechanical parts that are worn, and anomalies such as incorrect engines or bodywork. We also find good things too: we recently identified a car as a very rare limited edition which added to the car's value, and have uncovered previously unknown competition history.

Our unique network of inspectors means we have superb coverage across the UK and our travel costs are kept low. It also means that the majority of the cost of every CSR goes back into the local economy and helps to sustain good quality restoration companies that are the mainstay of the UK classic car industry.

Flexible

We can provide a wide range of additional inspection elements to create a bespoke package that will suit you perfectly. You can order HPI checks, photographic records and road tests online, but we also offer more detailed general inspections, engine tests (such as testing the compression), electrical checks, chassis inspections. Just let us know what you require, and we will biuld a package to suit you perfectly.

Auction Pre-Sale Inspections

If you are buying at auction, we can offer an inspection service that is both thorough and timely. We have an agreement in place to offer this service to clients of Bonhams, H&H and Anglia Car Auctions, and can usually arrange inspections through the other auction houses prior to standard viewing.
